Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is set to invite political party treasurers next week to discuss the mapping of the funding needs of political parties.

"Next week, on March 12 and 14, 2019, the team from the political task force at the Directorate of Education and Public Services of the KPK will invite political party treasurers to discuss the mapping of political parties` funding needs in detail," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said here on Friday.

The anti-graft body will also conduct in-depth interviews with the political party treasurers as part of efforts to provide a more accurate picture of the political parties` funding needs, as well as accountable management of their finance, he said.

The in-depth interviews are a follow-up to a focus group discussion organized by the KPK and secretary generals or representatives of the political parties` central executive boards in Jakarta on Tuesday (March 5, 2019), he said.

From the series of activities, the KPK expressed hope that the political parties would participate in revealing the real and ideal conditions to fund political parties.

"The KPK will later facilitate the development of democracy integrated to various approaches, including the funding of political parties," he said.
