Depok (ANTARA) - The General Elections Commission (KPU) of Depok City in West Java Province found the names of two foreign nationals (WNA) listed in the 2019 Final Voter List (DPT).

The Coordinator of the Division of Prevention of Public Relations and Inter-Institutional Relations of the Election Supervisory Agency of Depok City, Dede Slamet, said he was shocked by the findings on Monday.

"The two foreigners were from the United States and the United Kingdom, and we had suspicion that the data was from DP4 (potential voter list) Because of this data source, we chose from the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) of Depok," he said.

Then, a search was immediately conducted in the Population and Civil Registry (Disdukcapil) of Depok City to make corrections and write-offs immediately.

With these findings, Dede asked the Depok KPU to write off the names of the two foreign nationals because if it does not happen immediately, then it will violate the rules and legislation.

In addition, before being crossed out, coordination was needed between Bawaslu, KPU and Disdukcapil to ensure that there is no name of any foreign national on the DPT.

Dede continued explaining that the names of foreigners who had entered the DPT had been deleted.

And for now, what is being done is a re-examination to ensure there is no such error on the DPT.

After that, his side together with the KPU and Disdukcapil will continue to supervise until the voting later.

"This is indeed prone to occur in a place such as Depok City where foreigners work and stay. Of course there will be intensive supervision from the regional government, as well as Bawaslu, Depok KPU," he said.
