Presidential candidate number 01 Joko Widodo (Jokowi), was extended a warm welcome by local residents while visiting to hold a general meeting campaign at the Satria Sports Hall of Purwokerto, Banyumas District, Central Java, on Thursday.
According to Antara's observation, on Thursday, several thousand supporters and sympathizers thronged the Prof. Dr Soeharso streets leading to the sports hall of the city.
The vehicles of the crowds supporting Jokowi were spotted in the parking lot and on both sides of the road.
A local resident named Yasin, 60, who came from Karangkemiri, Pekuncen, Banyumas, claimed to have been waiting since morning to welcome Jokowi.
"Since seven in the morning (morning, red), I have been eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of Jokowi," he remarked.
Yasin was seen wearing an artificial robe bearing the words "Jokowi - Ma'ruf 01."
Jumirah, 40, who resides in Pekuncen, Banyumas, also admitted to have arrived along with his neighbors to attend Jokowi's open campaign.
"I came to see Jokowi," she noted.
Furthermore, Tati Hadi, 60, who resides in the Graha Mustika Housing, Purwokerto, expressed enthusiasm on being able to see Jokowi and his entourage.
"My house happens to not be that far from the Purwokerto Sports Hall, so I walked to this place to see Jokowi," she stated.
Meanwhile, Jokowi expects to secure at least 80 percent of votes in Banyumas District and the adjoining areas during the 2019 Presidential Elections.
The 2019 presidential elections will be contested by the Jokowi-Ma'ruf and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pairs.
