Once again, they are because of human error, and we have corrected them.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Election Commission (KPU) has said that mistakes made while entering the ballot count in its Vote Counting Information System (Situng) in five polling stations (TPS) were a result of human error and not done deliberately.
"Once again, they are because of human error, and we have corrected them," KPU Commissioner Ilham Saputra said here on Friday.
The five TPS were located in Riau, Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Maluku and Jakarta.
The mistakes in the KPU Riau were corrected, while those in Maluku, NTB and Central Java were in the process of being rectified, he said.
He appreciated the public for providing information on the mistakes so they could be corrected.
Pramono Ubaid Tanthowi, another KPU Commissioner, confirmed that the mistakes were a result of human error and not because of cyber attacks or hackers.
"The mistakes were immediately corrected. If there is a mistake, we immediately inform the regions concerned for corrections," he said.
He said the official recapitulation would be conducted manually and in stages from the sub-districts to districts/municipality, provinces and national levels.
The recapitulation will be carried out from April 25 to May 23, 2019.
The Situng data does not determine the results of the elections because it is just a media to publish the ballot count results based on C-1 forms, according to him.
