"I agree that they (the deceased attendants) should be given appreciation and compensation for their work," said the former chairman of the Executive Board of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia.
The running mate of Presidential Candidate Joko Widodo urged a revaluation of the process of choosing five ballots at a time sometime before the next election.
"Maybe, the system needs to be taken into account, because the simultaneous work of choosing five choices to prepare everything might be too tiring and needs to be evaluated," he said.
However, the non-active Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) hoped that it would not be too tiring for the polling station officials if the upcoming election were to be held simultaneously.
"The important thing is that it is not too tiring. It needs to be discussed further so that no attendants fall victims to fatigue," he said.
