Sorong, W Papua (ANTARA) - An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 shook Kaimana district, West Papua province, on Saturday night but no casualties or injuries were reported

The epicenter of the earthquake which struck at 10.32 p.m. local time was in the sea 121 kilometers of southeast of Kaimana district at a depth of 67 kilometers, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Office in Sorong, West Papua, said.

Viewed from its hypocenter depth, the earthquake was a shallow one caused by plate collision, the office said.

The tremor was felt by almost all residents of Kaimana district.
