Most of the victims have returned home. Currently, 13 patients are still being treated at the hospitalJakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 13 victims of riot that broke out in the capital city Jakarta on May 21 and 22 are still being treated at Pelni Hospital in West Jakarta as of Thursday.
Head of Development Division of Pelni Hospital dr Didid Winnetouw said the victims suffered moderate to serious injuries such as fractures, ripped muscles, and wounds from rubber bullets.
"Most of the victims have returned home. Currently, 13 patients are still being treated at the hospital," Didid said here on Thursday.
A total of 82 victims of the unrest have been treated at the hospital, of whom 62 suffered minor injuries, 13 with moderate injuries, five with serious injuries, one with non traumatic illness, and two died, he elaborated.
Most of the victims are local residents and they have been visited by their families, he said.
Six people died and more than 200 others were injured when the protest over disputed election results spilled into angry clashes on May 21-22 in West and Central Jakarta.
