Jakarta (ANTARA) - Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin's attorney, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, will lead the pair's National Campaign Team's (TKN's) legal team as a related party in the trial over the 2019 presidential election results' dispute in the Constitutional Court.

"The TKN legal team will submit an application as a related party in the dispute over the election results that will be requested by the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno camp," Deputy Chairperson of Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin TKN, Arsul Sani, stated at the Cemara Media Center, Menteng, Jakarta, Thursday.

Sani remarked that the TKN legal team had roped in 60 lawyers comprising professionals and those from its legal team as members to face the election dispute lawsuit at the Constitutional Court.

Sani explained that the TKN legal team had segregated the tasks among members of his team for the preparation, trial, and in the expert team.

Mahendra had earlier remarked that as a lawyer of the Widodo-Amin pair, he will cooperate with the TKN legal team to hand over a request as a related party to the Constitutional Court in facing a trial in a dispute over the results of the 2019 presidential election.

"Our party is ready to submit a request as a related party. Submission as a related party is carried out if the Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno camp files a lawsuit to challenge the presidential election results in the Constitutional Court," Mahendra had stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Mahendra noted that the submission as a related party, in this case, is the KPU, as the defendant of the presidential election dispute, while the other party candidate 01 has the right to propose related parties, submit expert witnesses, and refute the applicant from the faction 02.

Mahendra explained that as the legal counsel of the Widodo-Amin pair, he will work along with Director of Law and Advocacy of TKN Ade Irfan Pulungan to face a trial in connection with the 2019 presidential election dispute filed by the Prabowo-Sandiaga camp.

According to the plan, Mahendra and the Legal and Advocacy Team of TKN have readied dozens of lawyers, who earlier practiced at the Constitutional Court for the dispute hearing at that court.
