Merak (ANTARA) - Several hundred travelers at the Merak Port of Banten, looking to cross to Bakauheni Lampung, ailed from respiratory infections and fatigue for which they were treated at the Banten Port Health Office Post.

"A total of 188 patients received health services, most of them suffering from respiratory infections, while the rest were pedestrians and two-wheeled passengers reeling from exhaustion," Health Officer Endang S. Anwar stated while tendering an explanation to Health Minister Nila Moeloek at Merak Port, Saturday.

Minister Moeloek, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Puan Maharani had paid a visit to Merak Port, Banten.

Minister Moeloek urged travelers -- vehicular passengers and pedestrians -- to avail services at the health posts set up to for checking their health.
