A member of the Gerindra Party's Communication Board, Andre Rosiade, said here on Sunday, this was because the International Court of Justice was not authorized to handle the presidential dispute.
"The attitude of Pak Prabowo and Pak Sandi was clearly conveyed yesterday despite the disappointment but still respected the decision of the Constitutional Court. Of course this also signaled that Pak (Mr) Prabowo and Pak (Mr) Sandi obeyed the Constitutional Court's decision," said Andre.
The spokesperson for the National Winning Body (BPN) Prabowo-Sandi during the stages of the 2019 Presidential Election, said the filing of a dispute over the presidential election in the Constitutional Court was the last legal step taken by BPN.
"As statesmen and citizens who are obedient to the law, Pak Prabowo and Pak Sandi certainly obey the results of the Constitutional Court's decision, which is the last step in the process of electoral disputes in Indonesia," he said.
The BPN legal team also suggested that the issue of the presidential election was not taken to the International Court of Justice and Prabowo followed the advice.
"In principle this is the last constitutional step. We see that there are no relevant legal steps to bring it to the level of the International Court. We do not recommend it because the legal standing is not the domain of the International Court," Andre said.
