Jakarta (ANTARA) - The first National Cultural Week which adopts the concept of the National Sports Week will be held from October 7 to 13, 2019, an official has said. "It (the National Cultural Week) is not a means of competition to see who is the fastest or who is the champion but is a means of collecting all cultural potential into one forum," Director General of Culture of the Education and Culture Ministry Hilmar Farid said while introducing the National Cultural Week to the participants at a national seminar on nationhood in Jakarta Thursday.

The event which will carry the mission ‘Happy Indonesia’ will bind the Indonesian people who will be present at the event, he said.

The agreement to organize the event was reached during the Indonesian Cultural Congress in 2018, he said.

A cultural parade will enliven the opening and closing ceremonies, Hilmar said in addition to various traditional games that will also be contested.

The National Cultural Week will be held once every two years, he added. (INE)
