Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara visited the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Riyadh, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi government. Rudiantara was accompanied by Saudi Minister of Communication and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha during the visit.

Rudiantara is the first Indonesian citizen to visit the KACST.

During the visit, the Indonesian minister was briefed on the history, objective and benefit of establishing the KACST.

Since its establishment, the KACST has formulated a number of policies and conducted a number of research projects in the fields of science and technology.

"We want to exchange ideas and experiences with the Saudi government particularly in the fields of science and technology," Rudiantara said in a written statement released Friday.

While in Saudi Arabia, Rudiantara also visited Saudi Genome Lab and held a discussion with Director of National Pre-wedding Screening Program, Royal Princess Haya Khaled Al Saud.

In addition, he also observed the technological research and development conducted by KACST, including Nano Solar Cells Lab research in the fields of aeronautics and manufacturing as well as other innovations related to industry 4.0.
