We are here in Indonesia to understand the social activities better, and to discover what we can learnJakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs welcomed a delegation from Singapore's Ministry of Social and Family Development, on a working visit to gain knowledge of activities conducted in Melati Social Rehabilitation Hall for the Deaf. "It is to exhibit the social services we provide for those who have been registered here," said the Head of Social Rehabilitation Hall for the Deaf, Pujiyanto, in the Melati facilities in East Jakarta, Thursday.
During the visit, the Singaporean delegation viewed the arts and crafts activities conducted by the inmates at the centre that included knitting and making items from wood and ceramic.
They also visited a gallery to view the artworks, including baskets, clothes and glasses from clay, made by the hall's residents.

"We are here in Indonesia to understand the social activities better, and to discover what we can learn," said Director of Singapore's Social and Service Group Policy Planning Division Lee Cher Farn.
Aside from Farn, other delegates included Chief Representative and Regional Director of the Great China International Group, Juliana Kua, and Policy and Transformation Director of Singapore's Public Family Sector, Lee May Gee.
Upon their arrival, the delegation was welcomed by officials from Indonesia's Ministry of Social Affairs, as well as residents and was presented with yellow sashes. (INE)
