"The security forces informed that the explosion caused injuries to three janitors. No Indonesian citizen was, so far, among the victims," the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok noted in a statement received by Antara here on Friday.
The Indonesian Embassy continues to monitor the situation and appeals to Indonesian citizens in Bangkok and Thailand, in general, to step up vigil, steer clear from crowded areas, and maintain communication among Indonesian citizens.
The security forces are investigating the incident and increasing security during the meeting attended by 10 ASEAN foreign ministers and nine partner countries: the United States, the People's Republic of China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, Britain, and India.
On Friday morning, some bombs exploded at several locations in Bangkok, specifically, the area under the Bangkok Sky Train stop in Chong Nonsi, 57/1 crossroad at Jalan Rama IX, the center of government at Chaeng Watthana, Headquarters of the Armed Forces, and in front of the Permanent Secretary Defence Office.
Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha has condemned the blast and ordered to step up security and investigation.
"In connection with the bombing this morning, I condemned those behind creating a situation that disturbed the peace and tarnished the image of the country. I have ordered the authorities to ensure the safety of all people and those affected by this incident," Prayuth added.
