The first goal was scored by top striker Bagus Kahfi who took possession of a long pass from his teammate Rendy Juliansyah.
Two minutes after that goal, Brunei's goalkeeper failed to foil a penalty kick from midfielder Juliansyah.
Indonesia continued its stranglehold of the Brunei defense adding another three goals through Beckham Putra, Imam Zakiri, and Juliansyah, respectively.
However, in the 60th minute of the second round, the Indonesian goalkeeper Muhammad Adisatryo failed to stop a kick from Brunei midfielder Hilmi Sidik.
Following that aberration, Indonesia's regained its domination with Bagus Kahfi scoring the team’s sixth goal.
The team had now collected nine points with three wins in the elimination round.
In order to take the first rank in the elimination round, Indonesia will have to beat Lao on August 12 and Myanmar on August 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
