As in 1977, UNESCO had declared TNLL as one of the world's biosphere reserves, it is a certain thing that we preserve its flora and fauna.Poso, C Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The first Lore Valley Festival in Poso District, Central Sulawesi, on Sept 20-22 will portray the local wisdom in nature and forest conservation of its people residing around the Lore Lindu National Park (TNLL).
"As in 1977, the UNESCO had declared TNLL as one of the world's biosphere reserves, it is certain that we preserve its flora and fauna," Chief of the Office of Research TNLL, Jusman, stated in Palu, Tuesday.
Several expos will feature food and beverage products, traditional medicine, and the communities' handmade souvenirs made of materials sourced from villages across the region in accordance with the theme of "Establish the Tradition of Conserving Nature."
Jusman is optimistic of Lore Valley Festival actualizing the need for developing potential resources, boosting the community's livelihood, and enhancing public support and participation.
Jusman confirmed that the government of Poso District had demonstrated its support for the festival, as it would likely have a positive impact on the people's economy and attract foreign tourists to visit Poso.
Thousands of archaeological sites are found across the region of Lore that draw tourists or researchers from all over the globe to visit.
It is supported with the feasible access road, extending some 100 kilometers away from Palu, the capital city of Central Sulawesi, which would take some three hours by car or motorcycle.
In the middle of the trip, tourists will be able to enjoy other sights, including the Tambing Lake situated 1,700 meters above sea level, located in the route of Trans Sulawesi Palu-Palolo-Napu.
