We will provide job opportunities thereJakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan affirmed that Komodo Island will be transformed into an international-class exclusive tourist destination.
"We will develop Komodo Island into an exclusive tourist destination," Pandjaitan remarked in Jakarta on Friday.
The international-standard safari tour will be developed on Komodo Island, the minister stated.
The minister pointed to hunting tours being popular among foreign tourists in Africa.
Furthermore, a research center will be built, taking into account that Komodo dragons are ancient animals still existing today. Furthermore, other supporting infrastructure to be offered on the island include luxury accommodations.

The minister has ensured job opportunities for residents around Komodo Island.
"We will provide job opportunities there," he emphasized.
The coordination meeting earlier reached a decision to cancel the closure of Komodo Island.
Representatives of Indonesia's environment and forestry ministry, East Nusa Tenggara administration, and other officials were attendees at the coordination meeting.

The central government and local administration jointly managed Komodo Island to develop it into a world-class tourist area.
The decision came as good news for the world of tourism.
Discussions at the coordination meeting also covered various deficiencies, in terms of facilities and infrastructure, including patrol facilities, tour guides, toilet facilities, and docks.
