Jakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita conferred the Small and Medium Scale (SME) Food Award 2019 on 10 SMEs in an endeavor to encourage the country's SMEs to export their products.

The award was bestowed on the sidelines of the 34th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) organized on October 16-20 at the International Convention Exhibition (ICE), Bumi Serpong Damai, Tangerang, Banten.

"The 12th SME Food Award in 2019 is one of the ministry's endeavors to develop Indonesian SMEs and encourage them to go global," Lukita noted in a statement here on Friday.

According to Lukita, the ministry had constantly encouraged SMEs to boost their competitiveness and capacity in both domestic and global markets.

The awardees are grouped under two categories of general and special.

The general category encompassed seasoning products, instant packaged food, packed beverage, and snack. The specific category entailed new innovative food products and top local food products.

Among the award’s winners are Kecap Asin Kalimantan produced by PO William Food for seasoning product, Abon Kelapa by CV Abon Cap Koki for instant packaged food, Matcha Latte by Anugrah Tiga Putra as packed beverage, and Toma Tomi as snacks by PT Carissa Boga Rasa.

Winners in the special category are Sari Nektar Lontar produced by UD Esensi Alam Raya and Sate Ambal produced by CV Allisha Foods.

The awardees will participate in the Pangan Nusa food exhibition during the TEI 2019.

Four selected products -- Sari Nektar Lontar, Matcha Latte, Roeparasa, and Sate Ambal -- will be showcased in the Food Product Display at the ASEAN Food Conference on October 15-18 in Denpasar, Bali.
