Themed "Coloring the Beauty of Bali", the festival will feature various Balinese arts and culture, dance and musical performances
Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - The Nusa Dua Charm Fiesta 2019 will be organized in Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, Bali Island, from October 25 to 27, by the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

At least 15 thousand visitors are expected to attend the three-day festival, I Gusti Ngurah Ardita, managing director of the Nusa Dua, said here Thursday. Themed "Coloring the Beauty of Bali", the festival will feature various Balinese arts and culture, dance and musical performances, a culture illusionist show, an international body painting contest, a colossal dance performance, a drone race, and other activities to attract visitors.

"The Nusa Dua Charm Fiesta 2019 will present three music bands such as Padi Reborn, Fourtwnty and HIVI! that will entertain audiences of various generations," Ngurah Ardita said.

HIVI! will perform on the first day, Padi Reborn on the second day, and Fourtwnty on the closing day of the festival.

Balinese traditional music and dances will also be performed, including the Pendet Dance to be performed by 100 children.

Traditional artists from various regions will also be on stage presenting the Bekasi Mask Dance, the Mapolana Dance from West Sulawesi, and the Reor Ponorogo Dance from East Java.

"Visitors could also buy various souvenirs and handicrafts, enjoy local cuisines combining traditional and modern culture during the Nusa Dua Charm Fiesta," he added.

The festival is being organized in cooperation with the State Enterprise Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, the Badung Regional Administration, as well as local NGOs and artists.

The Nusa Dua Charm Fiesta has been included in the Tourism Ministry's Calendar of 100 Events.

"We hope that the Nusa Dua Charm Fiesta could help attract tourists to Bali in general and Nusa Dua in particular," he noted.

Besides, the Tourism Ministry launched a Calendar of 100 Wonderful Indonesian Tourism Events in late 2018 to promote the country's tourism attractions and attract foreign tourists.

The calendar is the initiative of President Joko Widodo to inform the world that the country has various events of international standards.

The ministry has intensified the role of the Tourist Information Center (TIC) and coordinated with various regional administrations to step up tourism promotion activities.

The target of 18 million foreign tourists has been revised from the previous target of 20 million foreign visitors this year.

Several unpredictable circumstances such as natural disasters have affected the arrivals of foreign tourists in the first semester this year, forcing a revision in the target, the ministry explained in late July.
