"We hope all parties that have initiatives, including the Republic of Korea, will successfully create a stable and peaceful Korean Peninsula.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian House Speaker Puan Maharani avowed to lend support to efforts in the path to creating stability and peace on the Korean Peninsula, including denuclearization in the region.
"We hope all parties that have initiatives, including the Republic of Korea, will successfully create a stable and peaceful Korean Peninsula," she noted in a press statement released on Tuesday.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Chief of the South Korea National Assembly Moon Hee Sang on the sidelines of the 6th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit held in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday.
The cooperation between the Indonesian and South Korean parliaments is quite active through the bilateral cooperation group, she noted.

To this end, she appealed to the South Korean House speaker to forge cooperation between both nations’ parliaments, especially in the economic field.
She also expressed hope that the governments of both nations will capitalize on the Korea-Indonesia Infrastructure Cooperation Center.
"Thus, the realization of South Korean investment in Indonesia in the field of infrastructure under a public-private partnership scheme will increase," she stated.
The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) supports the government's efforts to create a conducive and competitive investment climate in the country.

During the meeting between Maharani and Sang, the discussion centered on ways to improve the quality of human resources. "We encourage cooperation in the fields of vocation and internship by involving Korean companies," she added.
