Small- and medium-scale businesses should be included into the e-catalogue soon.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has encouraged micro-, small-, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) to market their products in the e-catalogue of the government's goods and service procurement.

"Facilitate domestic goods to be included into the e-catalogue. Small- and medium-scale businesses should be included in the e-catalogue soon," Jokowi remarked while opening the National Coordinating Meeting on the Government's Goods/Service Procurement 2019 here on Wednesday.

The government's total expenditures on goods and services reached Rp5,335 trillion during the 2015-2019 period. The total savings reached Rp177.93 trillion from the procurement process through e-tendering and e-purchasing, Head of the Government's Goods/Service Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) Roni Dwi Susanto stated.

Jokowi drew attention to the importance of prioritizing domestic products during the government's goods procurement process, so the e-catalogue regulations of LKPP should facilitate MSMEs producing domestic goods.

The government will table omnibus bills to the House of Representatives (DPR) to revise several existing laws perceived as being overly bureaucratic or complicated.

"Soon, we will create omnibus laws with 74 laws that we will revise and be submitted to the DPR. This aims to expedite our moves, to make the decision-making process easier, to ease, ease ourselves. I will pursue these," Jokowi explained.

The planned omnibus laws will be the Law on Employment Creation and Law on Empowerment of MSMEs.

Small-scale industries must be offered incentives to attract them to include their domestic products into the e-catalogue, he added.

The president reminded LKPP to ensure that the MSMEs marketing their products in the e-catalogue are producing domestic goods and are not distributors of imported goods.
