Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Tuesday, issued a summons to the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Deputy Treasurer Lina Nurhasanah as witness in a bribery case against ex-youth and sports minister, with initials IMR.

"Today, the (KPK) plans to question KONI Deputy Treasurer Lina Nurhasanah as witness for the suspect IMR in a bribery case in connection with the disbursement of funding to KONI through the Youth and Sports Ministry under a government assistance scheme for the budget year 2018," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Nurhasanah was earlier a witness in the case against KONI secretary general, identified by his initials as EFH, during a court proceeding at the Jakarta Corruption Court in April 2019. EFH was named a suspect in the case.

During the court proceeding, Nurhasanah came clean about have received entrusted Rp300 million in cash from EFH in the interests of the NU Congress in Jombang, East Java.

Furthermore, in 2018, Nurhasanah acknowledged to having received Rp2 billion from EFH for IMR's personal assistant, identified by his initials as MU.

On Sept 18, the KPK had named IMR and MU as suspects in the bribery case. IMR is believed to have received a bribe worth Rp26.5 billion.

The money is believed to be commitment fees to arrange the grant proposal filed by KONI with the Youth and Sports Ministry during the budget year 2018, receipts related to the capacity of IMR as the Satlak Prima (Gold Program) task force chief, and other receipts linked to IMR's post as youth and sports minister.

Satlak Prima is tasked with grooming elite athletes, with potential of bagging medals in international events.

The money is believed to have been used in the personal interests of the ex-youth and sports minister and other relevant parties.

IMR had once filed a judicial review request with the South Jakarta District Court to challenge KPK's decision to name him a suspect in the graft case.

However, sole judge Elfian of the South Jakarta District Court had declined the request.
