I want the management of SOEs to be improved through the total revamp of the existing management
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered a total revamp of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to improve their management.

"I want the management of SOEs to be improved through the total revamp of the existing management," he stated at a discussion with journalists at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

"SOEs particularly those related to technical matters is the business of the SOEs minister. Please ask Mr. Erick directly. To be sure, all assets of SOEs must be productive," Jokowi said referring to SOEs Minister Erick Tohir.

President Jokowi also does not want a single asset of SOEs to be non-productive. To date, the country has 142 SOEs.

"Don't keep unproductive assets that reduce the productivity of SOEs," he said.
