Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned Hyundai Engineering and Construction general manager and PT Kings Property Indonesia director as suspects in a bribery case over licensing and property in Cirebon District, West Java Province, Thursday.

"They will be questioned as suspects in a bribery case related to licensing and property in Cirebon District," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah stated in Jakarta on Thursday.

The Hyundai Engineering and Construction general manager and PT Kings Property Indonesia director are identified by their initials as HEJ and STN respectively.

The anti-graft body also summoned Agustinus, an employee of Hyundai Engineering and Construction, as witness in the case against HEJ on Thursday.

The KPK named HEJ and STN as suspects on Friday (Nov 15, 2019). However, they have yet to be detained.

HEJ had allegedly bribed the Cirebon district head Rp6.04 billion for the 2014-2019 period to license PT Cirebon Energi Prasarana PLTU 2 in Cirebon. STN is believed to have given a bribe to the tune of Rp4 billion to the district head to license PT Kings Property.

The case came to light when the anti-graft body conducted a red-handed operation on October 24, 2018.

During the raid, the KPK seized evidence, including cash worth Rp116 million and transfer receipt to the total account of Rp6.4 billion, and named the Cirebon district head, identified by his initials as SP, and former secretary of the Cirebon District Public Works Service, identified by his initials as GR.

The Corruption Court in Bandung, West Java, has declared them guilty of bribery.
