Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA) - A Palembang-bound bus plunged into a ravine in South Sumatra Province at midnight on Monday, killing 24 people and injuring 13 others.

The 13 people, who were injured, have been moved to a nearby hospital, Chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Office in Palembang, South Sumatra, Berty DJ Kowaas stated on Tuesday.

The bus, with 37 passengers onboard, met with an accident while passing the Lematang curve in Perahu Dipo, Dempo Selatan Sub-district, Pagaralam City, South Sumatra.
