"One of the three suspects has long been a target of the police's operation and was arrested only on January 18, 2020, along with the two other suspects," Chief of the Drug Detective Unit of the North Maluku Police Resort Second Inspector Aktuin Moniharapong noted in a press statement released on Monday.
The police arrested the suspects, identified by their initials as RJ, RT, and RA, after receiving a tip-off from the public, he revealed.
"All through January, we disclosed three drug cases and arrested three suspects, including RJ arrested by the operational team, along with 0.08 grams of crystal meth," he confirmed.

The police conducted further investigation into the case and arrested RT, who resides in Gosona Village.
He stated that a bong and its glass pipe were retrieved during the police’s search of RT's house.
"The suspect was later taken to the police resort, and a urine test conducted had come positive. We arrested the third suspect, identified by his initials as RA, who had become a target of the operation since 2019. During the raid, the police found a bong and 0.20 grams of crystal meth hidden in the land as evidence," he noted.
Indonesia remains under grave threat from drug dealers, as several individuals from its working-age population have been embroiled in a vicious circle.
