"The vile act committed by the armed criminal group against the people of Tembagapura District is worthy of condemnation," Chief of the KNPI Chapter Flice Arwin Yoku said in a press statement released on Thursday.
"We condemn the act committed by the armed criminal group against out brothers there. Moreover, we are all natives of Papua. This is inhuman act committed by the armed criminal group," he said.
The people of Tembagapura District particularly from four villages felt under threat in the presence of the armed criminal group there, he said.
"They came under a threat of having no access to food supplies so many of them starved," he said.
The police evacuated 800 villagers in the mountainous area in Timika, Papua, to Timika City to avoid acts of terror by the armed criminal group in the region.
The evacuees are residents of the three villages of Utikini, Banti, and Kimbely, the Indonesian Police's Nemangkawi Operation Task Force noted in a statement recently.
