The President has ordered governors to make detailed action plans, especially a COVID-19 circular map for their respective regions
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo has directed governors across Indonesia to formulate detailed action plans for handling the coronavirus outbreak, and circular maps of COVID-19 for their regions, in particular.

"The President has ordered governors to make detailed action plans, especially a COVID-19 circular map for their respective regions," chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Coronavirus Handling Doni Monardo said in a teleconference following a limited meeting between the President and governors on combating COVID-19, on Tuesday in Jakarta.

The President has also asked governors to re-focus and re-allocate resources, according to Presidential Instruction No.4 / 2020, including for social programs for poor families and cash-intensive labor, and to cut unnecessary costs.

"All policies taken by the governors, as chair of the task force, need to be comprehensively pursued to involve all stakeholders, including religious and other figures, so that they are fully supported by the community," Doni stated.

In addition, Doni said, the government will optimize industries that support the handling of COVID-19.

Doni said if the optimization of these industries could be maximized, they could work with regional counterparts to help other countries that need personal protective equipment, because most textile industries in South and Southeast Asia would actually scale down textile production. (INE)
