Kupang (ANTARA) - TransNusa has temporarily halted flight operations between Kupang in East Nusa Tenggara and Dili in Timor Leste as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

The closure of the flight route, which was launched on March 20, 2020, is aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 in East Nusa Tenggara as well as Dili, said chief of the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Transportation Office, Isyak Nuka, on Wednesday.

TransNusa has decided to temporarily close the flight route to support the provincial government's coronavirus countermeasures, he explained.

The Kupang-Dili flight route is among the lucrative routes in the country.

To cater to the rise in the number of passengers traveling to and from Kupang to Dili , the airline company has been operating flights on the route three times a week, Nuka said. (INE)
