"The PSBB policy will take effect on Friday (Apr 10) at 00:00 local time," Baswedan remarked during a press conference on Wednesday.
Eight points are outlined in the PSBB set by Baswedan.
The eight points set in accordance with the policy outlined by the health minister’s decree on PSBB encompass firstly, studying, working, and worshipping at home.
The governor noted that learning, working, and worship at home were already been applied in Jakarta.
However, activities in the context of social restrictions will be optimized in future.
Secondly, gatherings of more than five people will be prohibited. To more effectively oversee the regulation, extensive patrolling will be conducted throughout the ranks, involving the police and military.
"Numerous patrols will be conducted since we have to ensure no crowds, not in the form of checkpoints, but the entire ranks, along with the police and military, will patrol to ensure that all members of the community adhere to the regulation," Baswedan remarked.
During the implementation of PSBB, government services would run as usual.
However, the governor noted that government employees will work in rotation at home and those continuing to work at the office, affirming that their respective heads will decide on the schedule.
"The services continue. The Jakarta government, police, and military will operate as usual," Baswedan remarked.
Third, all places of entertainment, recreation spots, parks, and meeting halls are closed.
"All public facilities are closed. Government-owned public facilities, private-owned entertainment venues, parks, meeting halls, integrated public spaces, sports buildings, museums, and others, are closed," Baswedan remarked.
Fourth, restrictions are imposed on socio-cultural activities, such as wedding receptions and circumcisions.
Fifth, office activities are stopped, except for the eight sectors of health, food, energy, communications, finance and banking, logistics/distribution, retail (stalls/shops), and strategic industries.
Sixth, limitation has been imposed on the passenger capacity and operating hours of transportation modes.
Seventh, residents have to necessarily wear cloth masks while outdoors.
Finally, the Jakarta provincial government and central government will prepare social assistance for the poor and vulnerable affected by PSBB owing to the COVID-19 outbreak.
