At least 25 fire trucks were sent to the scene to put out the blaze which continued to rage until early Sunday, according to the Jakarta fire department on its official account.
It is believed the fire was caused by a short circuit at one of the semi-permanently homes. The blaze spread quickly to other homes built very close to one another.
The blaze is estimated to have inflicted hundreds of millions of rupiahs in material losses. .
