The 824 patients comprised 497 men and 327 women. Of the total, 711 patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 56 were under surveillance, and 57 under monitoring, Yudo Margono, head of the emergency hospital, stated here on Tuesday.
The number of confirmed cases being handled by the hospital also decreased by 12, from 723 on the previous day, to reach 711.
In the meantime, the Galang Island Emergency Hospital in Batam, Riau Islands Province, on Tuesday treated 43 male patients testing positive for the COVID-19, including 11 patients that showed no symptoms. All patients admitted to the Galang Island Emergency Hospital were males.
Achmad Yurianto, the government's spokesman for COVID-19 response, stated that on Monday, Indonesia had recorded 214 new cases, thereby bringing the total cases to 9,096, with 1,151 people recovering and 765 dying.
