Of the total patients, 1,391 have recovered from the infection, up 137 from Tuesday.
Indonesian capital Jakarta has recorded the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 4,092, nearly half the nationwide count. It has also witnessed the most patient recoveries.
"As we can see, the highest number of recoveries are in Jakarta with 440 patients (recovering from the coronavirus infection), followed by East Java with 152 patients, South Sulawesi 118 patients, West Java 107 patients, Central Java 101 patients, and the rest (of the recovered patients are) spread over other regions," government spokesperson for COVID-19 Response, Achmad Yurianto, said during a daily press briefing here on Wednesday.
Furthermore, he added, nationwide fatalities have now reached 784 with 11 deaths recorded in the 24 hours since April 28 to April 19 noon.
The health authorities have been tested 86,985 samples from 67,784 people, using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, in 46 laboratories across Indonesia. As many as 58,013 people have tested negative for the infection.
However, there are 221,750 people under monitoring (ODP), while 21,653 other patients are under supervision (PDP). (INE)
