Amar, formerly deputy chief of the National Police's Education and Course Institute, was appointed to the post based on the National Police chief's telegram number ST/1377 - 1378/V/KEP./2020 dated May 1, 2020.
Chief of the National Police's Public Information Service Bureau Brigadier General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono confirmed on Friday to have received the telegram on the appointment of Amar as a new BNPT chief.
Alius will later take up the post of chief policy analyst of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim).
The National Police chief also appointed Chief of the East Java Provincial Police Luki Hermawan to replace Amar as deputy chief of the National Police's Education and Course Institute.
Born on March 25, 1965, Amar began his police career in 1988 as a low-ranking commissioned officer of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
His career began to take off after graduating from the Police Staff College (PTIK) in 1997. In 2009, he was appointed as chief of the public relations services of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
In 2010, he was appointed as chief of the Public Information Division of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police, and two years later, he was appointed as chief of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police.
In 2014, he was appointed as chief of the Banten Provincial Police. In 2016, the National Police Headquarters appointed him as chief of the Public Information Division of the National Police.
In 2017, he was appointed as chief of the Papua Provincial Police.
