Through the CTI CFF, Indonesia fully supports the development of alternative sustainable funding at the CTI-CFF within the framework of the Indonesian leadership of the FRWG (financial resource working group) in diplomacy in the world's Coral trianglJakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government lends its full support to the sustainable funding of the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI CFF) in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Through the CTI CFF, Indonesia fully supports the development of alternative sustainable funding at the CTI-CFF within the framework of the Indonesian leadership of the FRWG (financial resource working group) in diplomacy in the world's Coral triangle region," Director General of Marine Space Management of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry Aryo Hanggono, concurrently executive secretary of the CTI-CFF National Secretariat, remarked.
Echoeing Hanggono's view, Director of Asia-Pacific and Africa Inter-Regional and Intra-Regional Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Andre Omer Siregar stated that Indonesia will continue the creation of a sustainable funding source mechanism ahead of the implementation of the Regional Plan of Action (RPOA).
Siregar spoke of the Foreign Ministry contemplating on implementing a CTI CFF priority program in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CTI CFF is a multilateral partnership of six countries -- Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste -- collaborating to sustain extraordinary marine and coastal resources by addressing critical issues, including food security, climate change, and marine biodiversity.
