Jakarta (ANTARA) - Government spokesperson for COVID-19 Handling Achmad Yurianto said the number of patients recovering from COVID-19 increased by 153 people to a total of 5,402 as of Sunday.

"We got 526 new confirmed COVID-19 cases , taking the total to 22,271," he said in a press conference at the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) in Jakarta on Sunday.

He said 21 people died of the COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 1,372.

Meanwhile, 404 districts/cities in 34 provinces, he said, had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this reason, he reminded all components of society to jointly fight and end the COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia under mutual help.

"Our job is still quite heavy, because we are still monitoring 42,551 people in all regions in the country, while the number of people under surveillance that we are still watching is 11,389," he said.

Yurianto reminded the community that the COVID-19 transmission was still ongoing in the community. Some people were vulnerable to contracting COVID-19.because they had come in close contact with COVID-19 patients, got close to crowds, and did not wear masks and wash their hands thoroughly with soap.

Therefore, he called on all people to really understand how the virus was transmitted and find out how to prevent it.
