Jambi (ANTARA) - The Jambi National Narcotics Agency (BNN) arrested three suspected drug couriers at the border of Jambi-Pekanbaru, Riau, and confiscated two kilograms (kg) of crystal methamphetamine and 3,400 ecstasy pills.

BNN Head Dwi Irianto confirmed on Friday that the arrest was made on Wednesday (Aug 5) at 11:45 p.m. local time.

The suspects are Alimudin, 27, a resident of Alam Barajo Sub-district, Jambi Province; Romi, 31; and Apriandi, 33, a resident of Reteh Sub-district of Indra Giri Hilir District, Riau Province.

"We have arrested three suspects, specifically a resident of Jambi and two residents of Riau," Irianto noted.

The police intercepted them at the border of Jambi and Riau after receiving a tip-off on the drug delivery.

The police seized two kg of crystal methamphetamine, 3,400 ecstasy pills, a minivan, three cellular phones, and a backpack.

The three suspects were detained at the Jambi BNN office for further investigation, Irianto stated.
