Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned fertilizer producer PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is holding 775,704 tons of non-subsidized fertilizers in stock, as of August 12, 2020, to cater to the demand of local farmers.

"To fulfill the requirements, we have readied non-subsidized fertilizers in regions. The stock can serve as an alternative solution to meet the needs of farmers not included on the list of subsidy recipients," Head of PT Pupuk Indonesia Corporate Communication Wijaya Laksana stated here on Monday.

The fertilizers comprise 561,235 tons of urea, 211,055 tons of NPK, 36,408 tons of SP, 2,843 tons of ZA, and 163 tons of organic fertilizer.

Laksana noted that the non-subsidized fertilizers came from PT Pupuk Indonesia's subsidiaries: PT Pupuk Kaltim, PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Kujang, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja.

Laksana further highlighted PT Pupuk Indonesia’s efforts to ensure the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizers.

As of August 9, 2020, the company had distributed 5.633 million tons of subsidized fertilizers, constituting 71 percent of the total allocation of 7.949 million tons for 2020 in accordance with Agriculture Minister's Regulation No. 10 of 2020.

Only farmers, who are members of farmers groups and listed in the e-RDKK system at the Agriculture Ministry, are eligible to buy subsidized fertilizers, he stated.

"All fertilizer producers will also comply with rules pertaining to the distribution of subsidized fertilizers," he added.
