They were earlier admitted to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, said police.
The decision to transfer them to the army hospital was made after the army chief of staff, deputy chief of the National Police, and the Jakarta police chief visited the wounded at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Jakarta Metropolitan Police spokesperson Sen.Coms.Yusri Yunus told local journalists in Jakarta on Monday.
Yunus, however, did not disclose the names of the wounded policemen or the ANTV crew person.
To deter similar attacks in future, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the Jakarta Military Command will conduct a large-scale joint patrol, he said, without elaborating on how many personnel would be involved in the patrol.
About 100 people had attacked the Ciracas police station in East Jakarta around 1:45 a.m. local time on Saturday (August 29, 2020). The attackers vandalized and destroyed several facilities at the station, said police.
They also set alight facilities around 2 a.m. local time, according to the East Jakarta Fire Information Service. Several cars and carts parked on the street were reportedly damaged in the attack.
The attack was the second of its kind to have occurred since December 11, 2018, when a group of unidentified people had attacked the police station.
Chief of public relations services for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Yusri Yunus, said the police are still probing likely links between the two incidents.
Meanwhile, 12 army personnel have been detained at the Jakarta Military Command's Military Police Detachment (Pomdam Jaya) over their alleged involvement in the attack.
According to Indonesia's Army Chief of Staff, General Andika Perkasa, the 12 detainees may have been involved in vandalizing several facilities at the police station, and 19 other soldiers have also been summoned and grilled over the incident.
Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander, Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, had revealed earlier that three of the 12 army personnel had admitted to vandalizing several vehicles during the early morning attack.
Speaking at a press conference at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta, Tjahjanto, who was accompanied by National Police Chief, General Idham Azis, noted that military police investigators have secured CCTV camera recordings of the incident.
After examining the call records on a cellular phone belonging to a military personnel allegedly involved in the attack, investigators have found that he had contacted 27 people. The military personnel has been identified as Second Private MI.
Based on the second CCTV camera recording, two motorists might have been involved in vandalizing several facilities at the police station during the early morning assault, Tjahjanto stated, adding that further examination of the preliminary findings would be conducted.
In response to the incident, Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud MD has demanded that the investigation be handled properly, in accordance with the existing laws.
The minister said he believed that the case can be solved easily owing to the close relations between the military and police chiefs.
However, Mahfud MD appealed to the public at large, including those from the law enforcement agencies, to steer clear from acts of vigilantism. (INE)
