Jakarta (ANTARA) - The IPB University supports efforts requisite to enhance the capacity of farmers through coaching programs implemented at community work training centers.

"To this end, the IPB University will make all necessary preparations, especially by providing experts," Arif Satria, the rector of IPB University, stated during a university press release received here on Monday.

Satria remarked that IPB University, among others, has partnered with the Ministry of Manpower in implementing coaching programs to boost the farmers' capacity.

The IPB rector noted that the Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) of IPB University had offered guidance to farmers around the campus. The ATP of IPB University fosters at least 40 partner farmers.

Through ATP's facilitation, the assisted farmers can sell products to modern markets in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi regions, including in the Diamond Supermarket, Yogya, Total, Ranch Market, and All Fresh.

The ATP of IPB University has also forged cooperation with online stores to help market the products of assisted farmers.

Meanwhile, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah affirmed that the government will help IPB University implement a program to boost the capacity of farmers through the establishment of a Community Agricultural Training Center (BLK).

During the pandemic, the Ministry of Manpower's programs are oriented largely towards expanding the workforce and business and entrepreneurship training in addition to boosting access after training, the minister stated. Related news: UI,UGM, and IPB among world's 100 top of THE's impact rankings
