Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Ninety-nine lecturers and employees of Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi province, have received tokens of appreciation, or ‘Satyalencana Karya Satya’, from President Joko Widodo, in recognition of their meritorious service.

Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA, presented the awards to the lecturers and employees at the university's academic senate hall here on Wednesday, under strict observance of health protocols.

The rector congratulated the recipients and expressed the hope that the awards would encourage them to improve their dedication and set a good example.

“Today, Unhas is ranked 7th in terms of the clusterization of institutes of higher learning. Of course, the achievement is inseparable from good collaboration and cooperation among all elements of the Unhas academic community, and is not an individual work. It is the human resources that play a role," he said after handing the awards to Unhas lecturers and employees.

‘Satyalancana Karya Satya’ is an award given by the government to civil servants who have worked for 10, 20, 30 years, and more, and showed prowess, discipline, loyalty, and dedication.
