As of today, all employees who tested positive (for the virus) have been declared healthy and discharged (from the hospital).
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial and Development Supervisory Board (BPKP) confirmed on Friday that 73 of its employees who had contracted the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have made a complete recovery.

The 73 employees were asymptomatic and were declared free from the virus after undergoing self-isolation at the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital in Jakarta, chief of the BPKP's law and communication bureau, Eri Satriana, said in a press statement released on Friday.

"As of today, all employees who tested positive (for the virus) have been declared healthy and discharged (from the hospital)," he informed.

He said BPKP took the initiative to conduct swab tests on all employees from July to August, 2020, in collaboration with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Jakarta Health Office, and Pertamina Jaya Hospital.

The move was aimed at protecting the health and safety of auditors who face the risk of contracting COVID-19 while performing their duties in the field, he said.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God) that we have conducted swab tests on 1,767 employees, most of them auditors, in order to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission, particularly within the BPKP office," he remarked.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was high since the agency had conducted massive contact-tracing of employees suspected of contracting the virus, he informed.

During the contact tracing exercise, the BPKP office was closed for 14 working days in mid-August this year and a work-from-home policy was implemented for 75 percent of its employees, he added.
