This week, we will get Rp3.1 trillion for additional allocation of subsidy for fertilizers, which is equal to almost 1 million ton (of fertilizer).
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has allowed the allocation of an additional 1 million ton of subsidized fertilizer through state-owned producer PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) to cope with the current scarcity in the strategic commodity.

The company's president director, Bakir Pasaman, said the additional allocation has brought the total subsidized fertilizer stock to 8.9 million tons from 7.9 million tons earlier.

"This week, we will get Rp3.1 trillion for additional allocation of subsidy for fertilizers, which is equal to almost 1 million ton (of fertilizer),” Pasaman said here on Thursday.

The company, he continued, has distributed 5.9 million tons, or 72 percent of the total subsidized fertilizer allocation, comprising 2.7 million tons (67 percent) of urea, 399.9 thousand tons (67 percent) of SP-36, 540 thousand tons (63 percent) of ZA, 1.9 million tons (78 percent) of NPK, and 386 thousand tons (54 percent) of organic fertilizer.

The policy for additional subsidized fertilizer allocation has been stipulated in the Agriculture Minister’s Regulation no.27/2020 on allocation and ceiling price of subsidized fertilizer for the 2020 fiscal year.

The company said it would continue to distribute subsidized fertilizer in the market.

“We have received a letter from the Agriculture Minister on the additional allocation of 1 million tons. Therefore, we are coordinating with the agriculture office in regions and readying to distribute the additional fertilizer,” Pasaman said.
