It is true that the district head has recovered.
Meulaboh (ANTARA) - Head of Simeulue District in Aceh Province Erli Hasim made a complete recovery from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after conducting self-isolation in the provincial capital of Banda Aceh, a spokesman stated.

"It is true that the district head has recovered," spokesman for the Simeulue District Task Force for COVID-19 Response Ali Muhayatsyah noted on Thursday.

In his letter, dated Sept 28, 2020, Dr Azharuddin, director of the Zainoel Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh, confirmed a report of the district head having recovered from the disease.

In the letter, Dr Azharuddin remarked that during the period of self-isolation, the district head was found to have not exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 and was declared free of the infection.

Muhayatsyah had earlier noted that the district head was believed to have contracted the infection during an official visit to Banda Aceh in mid-September.

The government of Simeulue District, located 150 kilometers off the west coast of Sumatra, called on local residents to remain alert to the threat of COVID-19.

Hasim is among the Indonesian officials, who had contracted COVID-19.
