"Hence, we are currently developing Labuan Bajo into safe city. Certainly, this system (ESIS) strengthens the integration of emergency handling and safety security protocols of Labuan Bajo," BOPLBF President Director Shana Fatina noted here on Thursday.
The ESIS will also proffer a sense of safety and comfort to tourists visiting Labuan Bajo.
The program aligns with the directives of President Joko Widodo, who is targeting to develop Labuan Bajo into a super premium tourist area, Fatina pointed out.
"This is also in accordance with the results of the limited cabinet meeting held in January 2020. The idea to apply ESIS is also in line with the expectations of BOPLBF to build Labuan Bajo into a safe city," Fatina emphasized.
BOPLBF has consistently supported various programs supporting sustainable tourism in Labuan Bajo in a bid to make it a super premium tourism area.
The ESIS program is targeted to be officially launched in early 2021, according to West Manggarai Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Bambang Hari Wibowo,
"This program aims to make Labuan Bajo into a super premium tourist area. Currently, it has reached 80-percent completion," he revealed.
Some two thousand CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor all locations in Labuan Bajo.
