Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has recorded 4,411 fresh COVID-19 cases, 5,810 recoveries, and 112 deaths in 24 hours, according to data released by the Task Force for COVID-19 Response on Thursday.

The country has recorded a total of 349,160 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 273,661 patients recovering from the virus and 12,268 succumbing to it, ever since the government announced Indonesia’s first two COVID-19 cases on March 2, 2020, the Task Force noted.

Currently, the country has a total of 63,231 active cases, or patients undergoing treatment and isolation for COVID-19. Besides, 154,926 people are suspected to have contracted the infection.

On Thursday, the authorities examined 42,208 specimens obtained from 34,119 people. The examinations were carried out by 376 laboratories across Indonesia. So far, the country has examined a total of 3,935,112 specimens obtained from 2,449,725 people.

COVID-19 cases have been reported in 34 provinces across Indonesia, and currently, 500 districts and cities have been declared as affected by the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In the last 24 hours, Jakarta has contributed the highest number of fresh cases at 1,071, followed by West Java with 590 new cases, Central Java with 472 new cases, West Sumatra with 363 new cases, and East Java with 267 new cases.

North Kalimantan is the only province that reported no new cases on Thursday.

Jakarta is at the top of the country's COVID-19 list, with a total of 91,337 confirmed cases. Of the total patients, 75,881 have recovered, while 1,970 have died.
