Jakarta (ANTARA) - The number of COVID-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms being hospitalized at Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospitalin Kemayoran, here on Sunday, decreased by 52.

The towers 6 and 7 of Wisma Atlet Hospital accommodated 1,361 patients comprising 655 men and 706 women, Colonel Aris Mudian, spokesman of the emergency hospital for COVID-19 handling, said here on Sunday.

"There are now 1,361 inpatients, and previously there were 1,413 people, down by 52 people," he said.

The number of asymptomatic patients, however, increased by 45 people and they were undergoing self-isolation.

In fact, a total of 1,136 patients were being isolated in towers 4 and 5 of the Wisma Atlet Hospital, up 1,091 people.

"As many as 1,136 patients in isolation tower 4 and tower 5, comprise 625 men, 511 women," he added.

The government has opened tower 6 and tower 7 of the former Athlete Village apartment since March 23, 2020, to treat COVID-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms.

Towers 4 and 5 are devoted to patients with asymptomatic condition and patients who have no place to carry out self-isolation following their specimens collection for the COVID-19 diagnosis.

Tower 6 has a capacity of 1,300 beds, while tower 7 has a capacity of 1,578 beds. Meanwhile, Wisma Atlet towers 4 and 5 have a capacity of up to 3,116 beds combined.

Since being operated on March 23, 2020, Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital for COVID-19 has received a total of 22,584 inpatients.

Wisma Atlet has discharged a total of 20,800 patients who have recovered from COVID-19 after treatment.

A total of 11,861 asymptomatic patients were discharged from the hospital, as they had recovered.

Meanwhile, Wisma Atlet Hospital can also provide recommendations for patient referrals to other nearby COVID-19 Management Hospitals.

The hospital also recorded that a total of eight patients had died and 415 patients had to be referred to other hospitals in Jakarta.
