Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Military (TNI) Headquarters will deploy a special force to conduct an organized and intensive hunt for the perpetrators behind the killing of four residents in Lemba Tongoa Village, Sigi District of Central Sulawesi.

The suspects are allegedly members of the Poso East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group led by Ali Kalora.

"Tomorrow morning, we will deploy the special force from Halim (Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase) to Palu, and they will be stationed in Poso," Indonesian Military Commander Air Chief Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto notified the press at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs here on Monday.

The special unit will support the earlier team already stationed in Poso to assist in the manhunt to catch the attackers.

"Pray for the operation to be successful. Support for the operation has been sent gradually, and I believe that the MIT group that committed crimes against the people can be arrested soon," he stated.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD stated that the government had ordered security personnel to bolster security following the attack that claimed the lives of four members of a family in Sigi District, Central Sulawesi.

"The government has ensured the safety of all citizens across Indonesia, including those of Sigi, Central Sulawesi, especially after the terror attack against residents in the region," Mahfud stated.

The government has denounced the terror attack allegedly committed by members of the Ali Kalora-led MIT in Poso.

"This is not a religious-based movement, but it is a criminal group that committed a crime against a family in Sigi and claimed lives," he affirmed.

The minister noted that the government had taken requisite measures to initiate the process of trauma healing for the victims' relatives.

Mahfud stated that the Operation Tinombala Task Force had hunted and besieged perpetrators of the killing.

On Friday (November 27), eight unidentified individuals barged into one of the residents' houses through the back entrance and took away some 40 kilograms of rice.

The violent act by perpetrators had led to fallen casualties in Sigi District, and they are suspected of being members of the MIT group.

As a result of the incident, several residents near the victim's house hid, fled, and even sought refuge outside their own areas.
