"The 14 detainees were moved to Wisma Atlet on Friday (Jan 8, 2021) to receive medical treatment and conduct self-isolation under the officers' surveillance with due observance of the health protocols," Ali Fikri, the KPK’s acting spokesman, noted in a written statement released on Friday.
The 14 people held in custody at the detention house at the KPK Building in Jakarta were declared positive for the virus after undergoing a polymerase chain rapid (PCR) swab test on Thursday.
Fikri noted that the KPK had adopted precautionary measures against the transmission of COVID-19 through contact tracing and antigen rapid tests conducted on officers guarding detainees and the detention house.
"The antigen rapid tests were conducted on detainees held in custody at the detention house of the KPK building and Jakarta military police station in Guntur, Jakarta, and the results show they are negative," he stated.
“To thwart the spread of COVID-19 at the KPK building, the anti-graft body has imposed stringent health protocols for both KPK employees and visitors," he remarked.
Disinfectant has also been sprayed at all workplaces of the KPK leadership, commissioners, employees, and the KPK detention house.
"The rooms are sprayed with disinfectant at least every weekend, including in certain rooms according to the need," he stated.
