Jakarta (ANTARA) - Newly inaugurated chief of National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo made a solemn promise to help the government stimulate national economic growth by creating security and stability as well as by upholding public order.

"(It is the duty of) the National Police to help drive national economic growth. The economy will grow if security, stability, and public order are well managed," Prabowo remarked after his inauguration as new chief of the National Police at the State Palace here on Wednesday.

Prabowo affirmed that the National Police will fulfill the mandated duties to aptly tackle challenges that lie ahead, including the COVID-19 pandemic, by disciplining the public to follow health protocols, he noted.
